It was a tough decision for the judges as each of the six entrants were keen to be the face of the Bower and showed passion for the event.
But Ellie won through and as well as leading the Bower on Monday, May 25, she will represent it for the following 12 months, ably assisted by her deputy Tegan Grist, aged 16.
The other entrants were Adalia Mynett, Tara Haines, Danielle Warner and Kirstie Matthews.
The Lichfield Greenhill Bower Committee and the Mercury would like to thank them all for entering the competition.
Each of the girls was interviewed by a panel of judges including Lichfield Golf and Country manager John Martin, Karen Wharton of Obsession, Mercury Bower queen 2014 Bethany Daire, Dan Ralley of St John’s House in Lichfield and Andy Kerr of the Lichfield Mercury.
Later they were presented to the audience by compere Lee Roberts and braved the catwalk where each received a warm reception.
Among the audience were the Mayor of Lichfield Councillor Norma Bacon and her husband Brian, the sheriff Cllr Bob Awty and his wife Eileen and the chairman of Lichfield District Council Cllr David Smith and his wife Gaye.
