Erasmus Darwin Birthday Celebrations Attended by Miss Lichfield

Darwin House celebrated the birthday of the amazing Dr Darwin this Saturday, 10th December, with free birthday cake cut by Hannah Foster, Miss Lichfield. Manager, Tracy Newton said, “Darwin would have been 285 on 12th Dec and its our tradition to cut a cake and sing happy birthday to this incredible figure from history”. To add to the festive atmosphere the Darwin Singers sang carols and did a wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday. The event was also attended by the Mayor, Sheelagh James, and Sheriff, Robert Yardley, who are both great supporters of the Museum. The birthday date also coincided with our Dr D’s Science Club for children, so the House was also the scene for scientific nail tricks and edible DNA modelling!!
